Curious About Art Therapy? Here's a Place to Begin.

People come to art therapy from all sorts of places. Some are drawn to the way creativity can open up feelings that are hard to put into words. Others are curious about how art, reflection, and connection come together in a therapeutic setting. And many simply want a clearer sense of what art therapy actually looks like beyond the name.

Our Introductory Course in Art Therapy is made for that kind of curiosity.

Over five evenings, participants are introduced to the foundations of art therapy through experiential learning, guided art-making, and reflective practice. Rather than approaching the subject through theory alone, the course offers an opportunity to engage with key concepts firsthand and develop a deeper understanding of the role creativity can play in emotional expression and well-being.

The course is open to non-psychologists, educators, artists, wellness practitioners, social workers, caregivers, students, and anyone interested in expressive healing practices. No prior training in psychology or art is required.

Participants explore what art therapy is and what it is not, while gaining insight into the principles that shape the field. Through a series of experiential activities, they are introduced to therapeutic art-making, emotional expression through art, reflective listening, observation, and self-awareness.

One of the most valuable aspects of the course is its emphasis on experience. Art therapy is often easier to understand when it is encountered directly rather than simply described. By participating in guided creative exercises and reflective discussions, learners gain a richer appreciation of how the creative process can support understanding, expression, and connection.

The course also explores how art can contribute to wellbeing in educational and community settings, offering participants a broader perspective on the role of creativity in everyday life.

Whether you're exploring a new area of interest, considering further study, or simply looking for a thoughtful way to engage with creativity and wellbeing, this course offers a practical and accessible introduction.

The next batch runs from October 5th to 9th, 2026, on Zoom.

Sometimes, the best way to understand a field is to experience it. This course is an opportunity to do exactly that.
